Volvo EV Range Calculator

Plan a Volvo charge window with an exact US rating or a measured range from your own journeys. EX60 powertrain and wheel choices are separate presets, while older EX 30, EX 40 and EX 90 records keep their original model-year labels.

Plan a charge window

Select your measured range to enter a vehicle-specific baseline. Published presets are locked to their cited values.

100% makes no adjustment. Enter a factor supported by your experience for weather, speed, load and route combined. This is your assumption; the tool does not predict those effects.

Estimated distance within your charge window

330.0 miles

531.1 km · no adjustment applied

Published baseline × your assumptions. This result is a planning scenario, not a new official range rating.

For the 330-mile first preset, leaving at 80% and reserving 10% makes 70% of the charge available: 231.0 miles before your conditions adjustment.

A 0% reserve is the mathematical full-range default. Set a practical arrival reserve before planning a trip, and follow the vehicle’s route and charging guidance.

This is a selection of published US ratings, not a current stock list. EX60 P12 projected range is excluded. US EPA and European WLTP values are kept separate; a European configuration can use an owner baseline rather than a converted US rating.

EX60: replace the early estimate with the certified configuration

Volvo’s July 2026 certification announcement identifies the EX60 P 10 AWD at up to 330 miles on 20- or 21-inch wheels and 312 miles on 22-inch wheels. P6 ratings are 307 and 295 miles respectively. The selector matches these four EPA entries. It does not use the earlier P 10 estimate or the P12 projection as a certified baseline.

Keep model generations separate

An EX 90 rating from a previous model year should not automatically become the rating for a new vehicle with different charging hardware or equipment. The same caution applies when a listing uses an older XC 40 Recharge name rather than an EX 40 label. Match the model year and drivetrain in your registration, order specification or window sticker.

A range rating does not determine the charging connector or the sustained charging power. Check the manual and the charging site’s compatibility for the exact car. This planner calculates distance from charge percentage; the separate charging-time calculator has a different purpose.

Winter journeys with repeated short stops

For a school run or commute with several parked intervals, measure the whole pattern rather than extrapolate from the most efficient stretch. Warm-up energy and time parked can consume charge without adding distance. An owner baseline collected on a continuous summer journey may not describe that pattern.

Once you have a representative full-charge equivalent, leave the conditions factor at 100% if it already matches your next trip. If you want to explore a different assumption, write down why you changed it. The tool applies no automatic heat-pump bonus or annual battery-age deduction.

Use the arrival estimate alongside this result

On a new route, vehicle navigation can account for route information this page does not receive. Compare its expected arrival charge with your chosen reserve and update the plan as conditions change. Reaching a town is different from reaching an available, compatible charger there.

Calculation method and owner calibration

Distance = full-charge range × conditions factor ÷ 100 × (starting charge − arrival reserve) ÷ 100

The formula assumes distance scales approximately with usable state of charge. It models neither a charging curve nor changing wind, elevation, cabin energy or road conditions. The conditions factor is an explicit user assumption; it is not a validated model-specific weather forecast.

To create an owner baseline, divide a representative trip’s distance by the fraction of charge used. For example, 90 miles using 40 percentage points gives an approximate 225-mile full-charge equivalent. Repeat on comparable journeys. Small charge changes and rounded dashboard readings can make a single short trip misleading.

A 225-mile owner baseline, 80% conditions factor and 80% to 10% charge window gives 126.0 miles: 225 × 0.80 × 0.70. Keep the factor at 100% if the baseline already represents the journey, battery condition and load. This page applies no automatic battery-age penalty, heat-pump bonus or universal temperature multiplier.

Published presets are locked to their source values. Choose the owner option to enter your own full-charge range. The 0% reserve default only shows the complete mathematical baseline; set a practical reserve before planning a trip.

Questions Volvo owners ask

Which EX60 ranges are used here?

The 2027 US EPA entries are P 10 AWD 330 miles with 20/21-inch wheels or 312 with 22-inch wheels, and P6 RWD 307 or 295 miles respectively.

Does the EX60 P12 projection appear in the calculator?

No. Projected range is kept out of the certified preset selector. Use a measured owner baseline for your own vehicle when available.

Can I compare this US preset with a European WLTP figure?

Compare ratings only within the same test procedure and matching configuration. This page does not convert EPA into WLTP or apply a fixed conversion factor.
