GMC EV Range Calculator

Explore a Sierra EV charge window with the correct battery package and trim. The table preserves GMC’s EPA-estimated and GM-estimated labels, while a measured owner baseline can reflect your trailer, payload and working route.

Sources checked: . Published figures are comparison references; the adjusted result is your planning scenario.

Plan a charge window

Select your measured range to enter a vehicle-specific baseline. Published presets are locked to their cited values.

100% makes no adjustment. Enter a factor supported by your experience for weather, speed, load and route combined. This is your assumption; the tool does not predict those effects.

Estimated distance within your charge window

283.0 miles

455.4 km · no adjustment applied

Published baseline × your assumptions. This result is a planning scenario, not a new official range rating.

For the 283-mile first preset, leaving at 80% and reserving 10% makes 70% of the charge available: 198.1 miles before your conditions adjustment.

A 0% reserve is the mathematical full-range default. Set a practical arrival reserve before planning a trip, and follow the vehicle’s route and charging guidance.

Exact 2026 trim and battery labels follow GMC’s US range FAQ. EPA-estimated entries are reported as published by GMC; GM-estimated entries remain manufacturer estimates and are not relabeled as EPA certification. These are up-to references, not towing predictions or proof of inventory availability. Hummer has a separate detailed planner.

Sierra EV: battery package comes before the headline maximum

The 2026 Sierra EV range FAQ separately names Standard Range, Extended Range and Max Range. A Denali badge alone does not establish its battery package. The table keeps each trim’s published label so a Max Range maximum is not assigned to a Standard Range vehicle.

The same source explicitly uses EPA-estimated wording for some entries and GM-estimated wording for others. The selector retains that distinction. An adjusted result remains a user scenario whichever reference you start with; the calculation does not create a new certified rating.

Calibrate a work or towing route

Measure representative trips with the trailer, payload and road speeds you expect to repeat. Use total distance and battery percentage points consumed to calculate the full-charge equivalent. Record whether the trailer was empty, what it carried and whether the journey included a strong headwind. A tall enclosed trailer and a lightly loaded open trailer should not share an assumed universal penalty.

If towing is already included in that measured baseline, do not deduct for it a second time. For a route you have never driven, treat a changed conditions factor as an assumption to test, then compare the result with the truck’s arrival estimate. Update the plan during the journey as conditions become clearer.

Energy used at the destination also matters

Tools, camping equipment and other parked power use can consume charge without adding road distance. This distance-only formula does not model those loads or a home-backup event. Recheck battery percentage after using power at the site, and protect enough charge to return to a usable charging location.

Plan charger access with the trailer attached

A charger can be compatible electrically but awkward to reach with a trailer. Before depending on a stop, check its location, access and whether you can charge while coupled. Allow time and space for your actual vehicle combination, and identify an alternative stop within the charge reserve.

Hummer owners have a separate configuration table

Use the Hummer EV range calculator for pickup versus SUV, 2X versus 3X, battery modules and Extreme Off-Road Package references. Keeping that table separate makes it easier to choose the correct Hummer configuration and avoids treating every GMC electric truck as the same range specification.

Calculation method and owner calibration

Distance = full-charge range × conditions factor ÷ 100 × (starting charge − arrival reserve) ÷100

The formula assumes distance scales approximately with usable state of charge. It models neither a charging curve nor changing wind, elevation, cabin energy or road conditions. The conditions factor is an explicit user assumption; it is not a validated model-specific weather forecast.

To create an owner baseline, divide a representative trip’s distance by the fraction of charge used. For example, 90 miles using 40 percentage points gives an approximate 225-mile full-charge equivalent. Repeat on comparable journeys. Small charge changes and rounded dashboard readings can make a single short trip misleading.

A 225-mile owner baseline, 80% conditions factor and 80% to 10% charge window gives126.0 miles: 225 × 0.80 × 0.70. Keep the factor at 100% if the baseline already represents the journey, battery condition and load. This page applies no automatic battery-age penalty, heat-pump bonus or universal temperature multiplier.

Published presets are locked to their source values. Choose the owner option to enter your own full-charge range. The 0% reserve default only shows the complete mathematical baseline; set a practical reserve before planning a trip.

Questions GMC owners ask

Is every Sierra EV range in the table EPA-estimated?

No. GMC labels Standard Range and the listed 410-mile Extended Range references as EPA-estimated, while the AT4 and Max Range references retain GM-estimated wording. Each row shows its source label.

Does Denali always mean the 478-mile reference?

No. The 2026 GMC table distinguishes Denali Standard Range, Extended Range and Max Range. Check the battery package on the exact vehicle.

Can this predict my Sierra EV range with a trailer?

Use a measured towing baseline from a representative trailer and route. The calculator scales that baseline by charge percentage; it cannot infer towing losses from the truck badge.
