Jaecoo EV Range Calculator: Find Your Real World Range
This Jaecoo EV range calculator shows your real world range across the Jaecoo lineup, not just the WLTP number on the spec sheet. Jaecoo is not sold in the United States, it is a global export brand from Chery sold across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Australia, and Southeast Asia, so this page uses WLTP figures rather than EPA. Jaecoo currently sells one fully electric model, the E5, badged J5 EV in most export markets, plus two plug in hybrids, the Jaecoo 7 and Jaecoo 8, which only travel a limited distance on electric power before their petrol engine takes over. Pick your model below to see real world electric range, whether you are using this as a Jaecoo E5 range calculator, a Jaecoo 7 electric range calculator, or a general Jaecoo range calculator for the whole lineup. Why Jaecoo Range Varies and What BEV vs PHEV Means
WLTP range figures are measured in a lab, but whether your Jaecoo is the fully electric E5 or a plug in hybrid 7 or 8 changes what real world range even means. Here is what actually matters before you compare numbers.
BEV vs PHEV Matters Here
Jaecoo currently sells exactly one pure battery electric model worldwide, the E5, badged J5 EV in most export markets. The Jaecoo 7 and Jaecoo 8 are plug in hybrids, they have a petrol engine and only travel a limited distance on electric power alone before the engine takes over.
A Global Export Brand
Jaecoo is part of Chery’s global export strategy alongside sister brand Omoda, sold across roughly 69 markets including the UK, wider Europe, the Middle East, Australia, and Southeast Asia, but not the United States, which is why this page uses WLTP figures rather than EPA.
The E5’s 61 kWh Battery
The Jaecoo E5 uses a roughly 61 kWh, about 59 kWh usable, lithium iron phosphate battery driving a single front motor, giving a WLTP range of 248 miles, front wheel drive only, no AWD variant is offered.
Small PHEV Batteries, Limited EV Range
The Jaecoo 7’s plug in hybrid system uses an 18.3 kWh battery for about 56 miles of WLTP electric only range, while the larger Jaecoo 8 uses a 34.5 kWh battery for about 83 miles of WLTP electric only range, both far short of the E5’s fully electric range.
The Jaecoo Range Calculation Formula
How is Jaecoo real world range calculated on this page? This Jaecoo EV range calculator starts with your model’s WLTP rated range and multiplies it by four adjustment factors pulled from real world test data, not a single fixed percentage. Want the same formula for any EV brand, not only Jaecoo? See our full EV Range Calculator for the general version.
Real Range = WLTP Range × Temperature Factor × Driving Factor × Heating Factor × Battery Age Factor
Temperature and driving factors come from AAA’s 2026 range and temperature study, the same real world dataset used across the industry, applied here to WLTP figures since Jaecoo has no EPA rating. Battery age degradation follows the same roughly 1 to 3% per year curve seen across the broader EV market. For the Jaecoo 7 and Jaecoo 8, remember the formula below only estimates the electric only portion of your trip, once the battery is depleted the petrol engine takes over and the towing and long trip math changes completely.
The Full Jaecoo Electrified Lineup for 2026
Every current Jaecoo electrified model, covering the fully electric E5 and the plug in hybrid 7 and 8, with WLTP range, battery, and starting price in the UK market. Use this table alongside the Jaecoo range calculator above to compare the E5’s full electric range against the 7 and 8’s much shorter electric only range.
| Model & Trim | WLTP Range | Battery | Starting Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jaecoo E5 (J5 EV) | 248 mi, full BEV range | about 61 kWh, 59 kWh usable, LFP | from about £27,505 | FWD only, single motor, about 201 hp |
| Jaecoo 7 SHS-P | 56 mi electric only, PHEV | 18.3 kWh | from about £35,165 | FWD only, 1.5T petrol plus electric motor, about 204 hp combined |
| Jaecoo 8 SHS-P | 83 mi electric only, PHEV | 34.5 kWh | from about £45,500 | AWD, tri motor, about 428 hp combined, only AWD model in the lineup |
A note on range extender models: Jaecoo already sells a range extender electric vehicle, or REEV, called the 6T, in Thailand, launched in 2026, offering about 190 km, 118 miles, of electric only range on the 2WD version and 160 km, 99 miles, on the 4WD version from a 33.6 kWh battery. A separate REEV for UK and European buyers, the Jaecoo 9, is confirmed for launch expected in 2027. Unlike a normal PHEV, these range extender engines only generate electricity and never drive the wheels directly, and the Jaecoo 9 is expected to offer around 136 miles of WLTP electric only range from a roughly 40 kWh battery, figures that are not yet final. All figures on this page are WLTP, the European test cycle, since Jaecoo does not sell vehicles in the United States and has no EPA rating.
Jaecoo E5 vs 7 and 8 Range Comparison
The gap between Jaecoo’s one BEV and two PHEVs is bigger than a typical brand comparison, since the 7 and 8 only travel a fraction of their total range on electric power. This table lines up all three side by side.
| Model | Powertrain | Electric Range (WLTP) | Total Range | DC Fast Charge | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jaecoo E5 (J5 EV) | Full BEV | 248 mi | same as electric range, no petrol engine | 80 to 130 kW depending on market | Buyers who want zero petrol use |
| Jaecoo 7 SHS-P | PHEV | 56 mi | about 745 mi combined petrol and electric | up to 40 kW | Short commutes on electric, occasional long trips on petrol |
| Jaecoo 8 SHS-P | PHEV | 83 mi | over 620 mi combined petrol and electric | up to 70 kW | Families wanting AWD and the longest electric only PHEV range |
